Many people want to support a friend who is feeling down or depressed but just don’t know how. Even with good intentions, they sometimes end up saying things that do more harm than good. This mental health awareness campaign is part of the solution to this problem. We have compiled some suggestions and tips on this site about how to help a friend with low mood or depression, but that is just the beginning; we’d love to hear from you too! We invite you to join the conversation on social media and share what you’ve said to a friend that has helped or what you wish you hadn’t said (#whathelpswhathurts).

This project was concluded in the 2017-18 year. To read the final report on this project go here: What Helps What Hurts Campaign Report
